Create Your
First Function
Save one repeatable AI job, then run new material through it.
BEFORE YOU START
Choose One Repeatable Job
A good first Function does one job you expect to run again. Prefer narrow rules to broad ones.
THE STEPS
Build the Function
Choose notes or sections the Function should know every time it runs.
Create a Function from that selected context.
Tell the Function what to do with new material and what output you want.
Save the Function so it becomes reusable.
Rename the Function to use a title that says the job: Extract risks, Compare claims, Draft brief.
Drop one fresh note on it and inspect the output before trusting it.
Only choose context you are comfortable sending to your AI provider each time the Function runs. Hide from AI prevents automatic discovery, not intentional context you select.
PROMPT SHAPE
Tell It the Repeatable Judgment
The prompt should say what to look for, what standards to apply, and what format to produce.
Starter pattern
Using the saved context, read the new material and identify what changed, why it matters, and what action I should consider. Return a concise brief with evidence from the input.
After the first test, tighten the prompt. Add examples, remove vague instructions, and make the desired output format explicit.
