Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important.
This Privacy Policy covers how Babel 11:9 LLC ("Babel," "we," or "us") handles information when you use Pachinko (the "Application"). This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and governed by Pachinko's Terms of Service, including the binding arbitration, class action waiver, and business succession provisions in those Terms.
Your Data
Your tasks, notes, projects, and other user content are stored in iCloud under your Apple ID. If you have Apple's Advanced Data Protection enabled, your iCloud data is end-to-end encrypted. Otherwise, it is protected by Apple's standard encryption. In either case, Babel does not have access to your notes, tasks, projects, or other user content. We cannot read, analyze, decrypt, or share what you store in Pachinko.
For information about how Apple handles data stored in iCloud, please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy.
What We Collect
Pachinko collects limited technical data for crash reporting, license validation, and support:
- Install identifier. Pachinko generates a unique identifier (GUID) for your installation, visible in the About box. This identifier is included with crash reports to help us diagnose issues.
- Crash reports. If Pachinko crashes, stack traces and diagnostic logs are sent to Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service, along with your install identifier. No user content, including notes and tasks, is intentionally included in crash reports.
- License validation. On launch, Pachinko sends your license key to LemonSqueezy's API to verify license validity and expiration. No user content is transmitted during this check.
- Manual log submission. The support tab in Pachinko allows you to manually send diagnostic logs to our support email. This is optional and only happens when you initiate it.
Third-Party Services
Pachinko integrates with the following third-party services:
- Apple iCloud. User content is stored in iCloud under your Apple ID. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Firebase Crashlytics. Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service, receives crash reports and diagnostic logs. See the Firebase Privacy Policy.
- LemonSqueezy. LemonSqueezy handles purchase transactions and license management. When you purchase a Pro license, LemonSqueezy collects your email address and payment information. Babel can see your email address and license key through LemonSqueezy's admin tools. See LemonSqueezy's Privacy Policy.
User-Configured Sources and Local Integrations
Features such as Feeds, Quick Capture, the browser extension, Share Sheet, Apple Reminders sync, Things and Bear imports, PDF import, YouTube transcript import, RSS or Atom import, X/Twitter bookmark import, News Flash, AppleScript, and other user-configured automations may retrieve, import, or create content from sources you choose. Babel does not receive that source content through those features unless you separately submit it to us, such as through optional support logs or email.
AI Features, MCP, and Your Content
When you use Pachinko's AI features, including chat, Functions, Feeds, MCP, and content generation, the notes and content you include in those interactions are transmitted to the third-party AI provider you choose, such as OpenAI or Anthropic, for processing. Babel does not store, log, or have access to those transmissions. How your content is handled by the AI provider is governed by that provider's terms and privacy policy.
If you enable MCP or connect external AI tools, those tools may be able to discover visible project material, use content you explicitly provide as context, retrieve note images, create sections, create notes, move work, delete projects, areas, sections, or notes, set statuses and dates, queue Functions, and otherwise interact with Feeds, Functions, and other AI workflows through Pachinko. Hide from AI keeps projects out of automatic AI browsing, MCP lists, and ordinary workspace scans; it does not prevent use of notes or sections you deliberately select or include as Function context. Babel does not control how external AI tools store, log, or process the information they access. You are responsible for choosing which tools to connect, reviewing their privacy practices, and using Pachinko's privacy controls, including Hide from AI, where appropriate.
Third-party AI tools, such as Claude Code and Codex, may store conversation logs and data in cleartext in your local user directory. This is not controlled by Pachinko. Consult the privacy documentation of any AI tool you use.
Backups, exported Functions, exported workflow files, and other files you create from Pachinko may contain your user content and are stored wherever you choose to save or share them. Babel does not receive or control those exported files unless you send them to us.
What We Don't Collect
Pachinko does not include analytics or behavioral telemetry. We do not track how you use the app, which features you interact with, or how often you use them. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies on our website or in the Application.
United States Availability
The Application is offered solely to users in the United States. If you access Pachinko from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative, you are responsible for compliance with applicable local law, and you understand that the limited data described in this Privacy Policy may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Privacy Requests
Pachinko is not built around collecting user data. Your notes, tasks, projects, and other user content live in iCloud under your Apple ID. Babel does not have access to them. The data we hold is limited to your install identifier, crash report logs, and, if you are a Pro subscriber, your license key and email address held by LemonSqueezy.
- Access. Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Deletion. Request that we delete personal data we hold about you.
- Correction. Request that we correct inaccurate personal data.
- Portability. Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Opt-out of sale. We do not sell your personal information. There is nothing to opt out of.
To make a privacy request, contact us at hello@babel.so. To manage purchase information directly, contact LemonSqueezy.
If you ask us to delete license or support data, some Application features may no longer work, including license validation or support requests tied to your install identifier. Your notes and tasks are stored in iCloud under your Apple ID, and Babel has no access to them.
Data Retention
Crash report data stored in Firebase Crashlytics is retained indefinitely unless you request its deletion. License validation data is maintained by LemonSqueezy for the duration of your account and as otherwise required by law or LemonSqueezy's policies. To request deletion of data we control, contact us at hello@babel.so.
Data Security and Breach Notification
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the limited personal data within our control, such as your install identifier and crash report logs, as well as account data held on our behalf by LemonSqueezy, such as your email address and license key. Your notes, tasks, and other content are stored in your own iCloud account under your Apple ID and are encrypted by Apple; Babel cannot access, read, or decrypt them. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we become aware of a security breach affecting personal information we own or license, we will:
- Investigate and contain. Promptly assess the nature and scope of the incident and take reasonable steps to contain and remediate it.
- Notify affected users. Where the breach triggers a notification obligation under applicable law, we will notify affected individuals without unreasonable delay and within the timeframe required by the applicable state breach-notification statute. The notice will include the information required by law, which may cover the nature of the breach, the categories of personal information involved, the approximate date of the breach, the steps we have taken, and steps you can take to protect yourself.
- Notify regulators and agencies. Where required, we will notify the relevant legal authorities within the required timeframes.
- Explain how we will contact you. We will provide notice by email to the address associated with your purchase and/or by a conspicuous posting on this website or within the Application, as permitted by applicable law.
Most state breach-notification laws do not require notice where the affected data was encrypted and the encryption key was not also acquired. Because your content is encrypted in iCloud and the data we hold is limited, the circumstances that would require notice may be narrow, but we will provide notice whenever the law requires it.
You also play an important role in protecting your information. Because your content resides in your iCloud account rather than on our servers, we strongly encourage you to secure your Apple ID with a strong, unique password and two-factor authentication, and to enable Apple's Advanced Data Protection for end-to-end encryption.
Age Requirement
Pachinko is only for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. We reserve the right to terminate access if we discover a user is under 18.
Changes to this Policy
This policy may change from time to time. When we change the policy, we will post the changes on this page.
