Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important.

Your privacy is very important to Babel. This Privacy Policy covers how we handle your information when you use Pachinko. Please take a moment to get to know our practices and contact us if you have any questions.

Your Data

Your tasks, notes, and all user content are stored in iCloud. If you have Apple's Advanced Data Protection (ADP) enabled, your data is end-to-end encrypted. Otherwise, it is protected by Apple's standard encryption. In either case, Babel does not have access to your notes, tasks, or any user content. We cannot read, analyze, or share what you store in Pachinko. For information about how Apple handles data stored in iCloud, please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy.

What We Collect

Pachinko collects limited technical data for crash reporting and license validation:

  • Install identifier. Pachinko generates a unique identifier (GUID) for your installation, visible in the About box. This identifier is included with crash reports to help us diagnose issues.
  • Crash reports. If Pachinko crashes, stack traces and diagnostic logs are sent to Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service) along with your install identifier. No user content (notes, tasks) is included in crash reports.
  • License validation. On each launch, Pachinko sends your license key to LemonSqueezy's API to verify license validity and expiration. No user content is transmitted during this check.
  • Manual log submission. The support tab in Pachinko allows you to manually send diagnostic logs to our support email. This is entirely optional and only happens when you initiate it.

Third-Party Services

Pachinko integrates with the following third-party services:

  • Apple iCloud. All user content is stored in iCloud. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google). Receives crash reports and diagnostic logs. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
  • LemonSqueezy. Handles purchase transactions and license management. When you purchase a Pro license, LemonSqueezy collects your email address and payment information. Babel can see your email address and license key through LemonSqueezy's admin tools. See LemonSqueezy's Privacy Policy.

AI Features and Your Content

When you use Pachinko's AI features (chat, runners, and content generation), the notes and content you include in those interactions are transmitted to your chosen third-party AI provider (such as OpenAI or Anthropic) for processing. Babel does not store, log, or have access to these transmissions. How your content is handled by the AI provider is governed by their respective privacy policies.

Please be aware that third-party AI tools (such as Claude Code and Codex) may store conversation logs and data in cleartext in your local user directory. This is not controlled by Pachinko. Consult the privacy documentation of any AI tool you use.

What We Don't Collect

Pachinko does not include analytics or behavioral telemetry. We do not track how you use the app, what features you interact with, or how often you use them. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies on our website or in the application.

Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

For users in the European Economic Area, we process data under the following legal bases:

  • Contractual necessity. License validation is required to provide the service you have purchased.
  • Legitimate interest. Crash reporting helps us maintain and improve the Application. You can opt out by not using the Application.

Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access. Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Deletion. Request that we delete your personal data.
  • Correction. Request that we correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Portability. Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
  • Opt-out of sale. We do not sell your personal information. There is nothing to opt out of.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@babel.so. We will respond within 30 days (GDPR) or 45 days (CCPA) of receiving your request. The data we hold is limited to: your install identifier (GUID), crash report logs, and — if you are a Pro subscriber — your license key and email address (held by LemonSqueezy). To manage your purchase information directly, contact LemonSqueezy.

Your notes and tasks are stored in iCloud under your Apple ID — you control them entirely. Babel has no access to this data.

Data Retention

Crash report data stored in Firebase Crashlytics is retained indefinitely unless you request its deletion. License validation data is maintained by LemonSqueezy for the duration of your account. To request deletion of any data we hold, contact us at hello@babel.so.

Age Requirement

Pachinko is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

International Users

Babel is based in Washington State, USA. Crash reports are processed by Google (Firebase Crashlytics) and license validation is handled by LemonSqueezy. By using Pachinko, you consent to the transfer of this limited data to the United States and its processing in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Changes to this Policy

This policy may change from time to time. When we change the policy, we will post the changes on this page.
