Advanced Data Protection: End-to-End Encryption for iCloud

Let's get serious for a second. We can't read your data, and we designed Pachinko that way on purpose. We don't even use cookies on our homepage to track visitors. That means we're flying blind on how the product gets used, but we'd rather lose that data than lose your trust.

There are two levels of encryption. The highest is Advanced Data Protection (ADP), and it's Apple's end-to-end encryption system for iCloud data. When you enable ADP, not even Apple can read your data.

Without ADP, your tasks sync to iCloud using standard encryption in transit and at rest, but Apple holds the encryption keys. This means Apple could theoretically access your data if required by law enforcement or if their systems were compromised. With ADP enabled, even Apple can't decrypt your tasks - only devices signed into your iCloud account can read them.

  • encryption type End-to-end when ADP enabled
  • who can read Only you on your signed-in devices
  • apple access None with ADP, limited without it
  • our access None either way (iCloud handles sync)
  • ADP is an Apple feature, not a Pachinko feature - you enable it in your iCloud settings. Learn how to set it up on Apple's support page.

Read our full Privacy Policy for details on exactly what we collect (almost nothing) and how we handle your data.
