UNDERSTANDING THE DIFFERENCE

Browser Extension vs Quick Capture: Two Different Tools

Both the browser extension and Quick Capture let you save content to your Inbox, but they work differently. The browser extension is a one-click icon in your browser toolbar that can save whole web pages or just selected text and images - it only works in web browsers, but requires no special permissions. Quick Capture uses Cmd+; and works in Apple Mail, Apple Messages, PDFs in Preview, and browsers, but needs system accessibility permissions to function.

The choice comes down to where you work. If you mostly capture content from websites, the browser extension is simpler. If you need to clip from Mail, Messages, or PDFs in Preview, you need Quick Capture. Many people use both depending on context.
